This rudder has a spring loaded blade and rotates vertically about 100 degrees. You can it a lift cord to the rudder to manually lift it from the cockpit and clear weed but mostly the rudder will self lift if enough weed if caught, and then return to original position. The blade lifts when you slide over over logs, etc, and is strong and durable. The blade is hydrodynamic in shape and reduces drag by 30% compared with flat plate blades.

This rudder mounts on the back deck using a mounting bar with three screws. Screws not supplied.
